Vintage WWII McCord M1 Helmet Shell Rear Seam Heat Stamp 1267F Combat Pot:
$99.98

Up for sale is an authentic, original World War II M1 steel helmet shell manufactured by the McCord Radiator & Manufacturing Company. This is a standalone steel "pot" shell only; no inner liner is included.
Based on the production characteristics and factory markings, this shell dates to the final months of World War II, manufactured circa late March to April 1945.
Key Features & Details:
• Manufacturer: McCord Radiator & Manufacturing Company
• Production Era: Late WWII (1945)
• Seam Location: Rear Seam (rim weld joins at the rear/neck area)
• Factory Heat Stamp: Sharp, machine-stamped 1267F lot number clearly visible on the inside lower front lip of the brim (stamped/indented into the metal, not embossed).
• Chinstrap: Features an attached cloth chinstrap with later-era post-war replacement hardware clips, consistent with military reissue for later twentieth-century conflicts.
Condition Details:
The steel shell displays a great vintage olive-drab patina with expected surface wear, paint scuffs, and minor oxidization spots consistent with its age and military storage. The rim is secure and intact with the weld joined at the rear. The interior heat stamp 1267F is clear and highly legible.
Please review all high-resolution photos for a detailed look at the exact condition and stamps.Paint Condition Note: There is a minor, vertical hairline crack in the green paint layer on the back body of the helmet, measuring approximately 1 inch long. This is strictly a cosmetic surface separation in the old paint coat due to age; it does not penetrate the steel helmet shell itself.
in addition while taking pictures I tried to point out in the pictures on the forehead in the front you can only feel it a small less than Palm size dent in the front I tried to capture it in the pictures but the only way you can feel it it's a little flat spot is almost like where it got the helmet got dropped that is very subtle you can feel it but it's hard to see in the pictures that is and the only way to really notices it is feeling it the pictures and even looking at it it's hard to see
Additionally small chips of the olive green paint on the exterior shell showing the light lime green primer underneath please see photos
