Fantastic vintage commercial newspaper vending machine originally used for The Oregonian newspaper.
Manufactured by Kaspar Wire Works of Shiner, Texas, this is a Sho-Rack Model K-49-16. Features a striking original black finish with gold abstract line decoration, chrome-tone pull handle, glass front door and original metal hairpin-style legs.
The front retains The Oregonian advertising along with the original price panel showing 35ยข Daily and $1.50 Sunday.
Measures approximately 24" wide x 17" deep x 36" tall.
Vintage used condition with scratches, scuffs, finish wear, oxidation and other signs of commercial use and age. Please examine photos carefully for condition.
No keys are included. The coin mechanism is missing/incomplete, so this is being sold as a decorative/collectible piece and not as a functioning coin-operated vending machine.
A terrific piece of Portland/Oregon newspaper history as well as a great industrial or Mid-Century Modern display piece. Would make an especially fun conversation piece in a home, business, restaurant, bar, office or newspaper/media collection.
