Beautiful example of the Schrade 880 Premium Stock Knife, measuring approximately 3 7/8” closed and built on Schrade’s substantial Texas-pattern stockman frame.
⭐ WHAT DISTINGUISHES THE 880: The 880 was one of Schrade’s premium large stockman patterns and featured a distinctive concave/hollow-ground master clip blade, historically marketed by Schrade as the KON-KAV grind. This is an important distinction between the 880 and more commonly encountered Schrade stockman patterns.
Please note: The words KON-KAV are not stamped or etched on this particular knife. KON-KAV is Schrade’s historical terminology for the characteristic concave master-blade grind used on the 880 pattern.
⭐ LATE-PRODUCTION 880: This example carries the later:

tang stamp, placing it in the final Schrade-marked production period following the earlier Schrade-Walden era. Although the 880 disappeared from Schrade catalogs after 1975, surviving production information records only 3,617 examples produced in 1976 and just 77 in 1977, after which the pattern was discontinued.
That combination—the 880 pattern, distinctive master-blade configuration and short final production period with the later SCHRADE tang stamp—makes this an especially interesting example for the Schrade or vintage American pocketknife collector.
◆ BLADES: Three very full carbon-steel blades consisting of the large concave-ground clip master, sheepfoot and spey. The master retains the concave grind along with its attractive long match-strike pull. The blades have been lightly sharpened but remain very full and present exceptionally well.
◆ HANDLES: Handsome dark brown jigged Delrin with excellent depth and character. Traditional Schrade shield remains tight and attractive. No chips or cracks detected.
◆ CONSTRUCTION: Classic heavy-duty Schrade stockman construction with nickel-silver bolsters and brass liners. Approximately 3 7/8” closed with a substantial feel in hand.
◆ MECHANICS: Good snap and solid mechanics with no blade wobble.
◆ CONDITION: Very nice example with full blades that have seen light sharpening. Attractive jigged handles give this knife excellent overall presentation. Light age and handling evidence is present and shown closely in the photographs.
