Restored WM. S. McDOWELL - BILL\'S BEST straight razor. Razor has been cleaned, de-rusted, polished, honed and waxed and is shave ready. Blade is nice but does have Residual pitting and spotting on both sides of blade. Overall a decent looking blade, not the prettiest, but a hell of a good shaver. See pics for more details. Light to moderate hone wear on this blade. Blade was finished on a vintage Thuringian using one layer of tape on spine.
Blade width at widest point measures at just under 6/8ths.Razor length is 6 3/8ths inches.Blade grind is approximately a 3/4 hollowNo jimps on shank.
Front side of shank is stamped - BILL\'S BEST - No 96. Back side is stamped - WM. S. McDOWELL - PHLA, PA. - MADE IN GERMANY.
Scales are vintage cream colored celluloid. They have some nicks, scratches and a small amount of warping, but overall very nice. They have been cleaned, polished and waxed. Brass pins. Pins are tight and blade closes fine.
Blade is shave ready. Nice shaver!
