VintageParamount Tree Top Star No. 735Christmas tree topper with its original green box.
These were manufactured by the Raylite Electric Company from 1949 into the 1950\'s. My parents purchased this sometime in the 1950\'s and it has been stored away all these years.
Classic red-and-white five-point star design with an opaque white molded center, translucent dark red outer border and small metal retaining clips positioned around the face of the star. The center has molded dimensional starburst detailing that gives the topper a great period look even when not illuminated.
The bottom is fitted with its original small screw-in electrical base for use as a lighted Christmas tree topper. The star measures approximately5 to 5.5 inches talland is a compact size well suited to a vintage tabletop or traditional Christmas tree display.
The original box is approximately 5.75 in x 5.75 in x 1.5 in with still bright, vibrant green and red colors and an intact clear viewing window with some dents but no tears.
The star itself shows normal age-related wear but in very good condition and intact. The red outer border and metal clips are complete.Plug, cord, and light bulb do work - see photographs. I do not think the cord and plug originally came with this No. 735 model, however it was stored away with it by my parents and likely date to the period. The cord is aged but still pliable and no visible cracks in the insulation. Likewise the plug shows age but no visible cracks.
The original cardboard box shows some age wear, including some edge and corner wear including some adhesive residue, likely from old price tag stickers such as the TG&Y 89 cent price tag original from the day of purchase. The mounting card that held the star inside the box is missing. Please review the close-up photographs carefully for the exact box condition.
A great piece of mid-century Christmas décor for a vintage holiday collection, retro Christmas display, old Christmas-light collection or seasonal décor setup. Original packaging makes this significantly more displayable than a loose example.
Shipping and handling is included in the price as long as the destination is in the USA (lower 48 states).
