Vintage PVC 1994 Tex Avery “The Wolf”- Belgium - Demons & Merveilles - 4” Tall, 100% Paint
Background & Manufacturer Context
1. Démons et Merveilles:
A renowned French collectible company (with deep production and distribution ties across Belgium and Western Europe) active throughout the 1990s and 2000s.
They specialized in high-quality European pop-culture merchandise, creating iconic vinyl, resin, metal, and PVC figurines based on classic animation properties (Tex Avery, Looney Tunes, Betty Boop, Corto Maltese, and Disney).
2. Licensing & Character:
Based on MGM’s iconic Tex Avery character "The Wolf" (famous for his exaggerated wild-eyed, tongue-out "wolf-call" reactions to Red in classics like Red Hot Riding Hood).
Stamped with Turner Entertainment Co. copyright details (often on the base or lower back), as Turner held the classic MGM cartoon catalog rights during the mid-1990s.
3. Regional Rarity:
These figures were predominantly distributed in France, Belgium, and broader Europe, making them significantly harder to find in the North American secondary market.
