Outstanding collection of 43 vintage labor union pinback buttons spanning over two decades of American labor history (1975–1998), primarily from OCAW (Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers) locals, with United Steelworkers (USW), UMWA, and Chevron Coordinating Council pieces mixed in.
Highlights:
Dated "South Bay Local 1-547" run — an unbroken yearly series from 1975 through 1994 (great for a date-run collector)
"Southern California Local 1-675" dated series, 1988–1998
"1990 Now It's Personal" and "Job Cuts" (with slash graphic) — striking strike/negotiation-era graphics
"Chevron Coordinating Council — Unions in Solidarity, Planning Together for 1990"
"Whatever It Takes 88" UMWA fist graphic — bold union-strength imagery
"O.C.A.W. 100% Organized," "O.C.A.W. Unity Committee," "Union Proud" (USW Local 675)
"Stand Up For Something" and "We Are The Best... We'll Always Remember" — Spirit '88
"Enough!" protest button with raised fist graphic
Rare "Union Yes" matchbook-style pin
Small "Win With Quinn in '93, Unit Chairman" and devil-mascot local button
Two small gold-tone commemorative pin-backs included
Condition: Mixed vintage condition, consistent with age — most are clean and vibrant with strong color retention; a few show light edge wear, oxidation, or rust spotting typical of 1970s-80s pin-backs (notably some of the earliest South Bay dated pins). Closeup photos available on request for any specific piece.
Why this lot matters: This is a cohesive archive from active OCAW/USW locals across multiple decades — negotiation campaigns, organizing drives, solidarity actions, and local leadership races. A genuine piece of American labor history, ideal for union memorabilia collectors, labor historians, or pinback specialists building a themed run.
