This lovely pair of sterling silver Navajo earrings, with new sterling silver French wire hoops, is a rare and unusual form, each being comprise of three sections:a chunky fluted squash blossom dangling belowtwo graduated-cylindrical drum-shaped storyteller beads, evoking warmth and a lively movement of the earrings as the wearer moves. The blossoms and each bead are decorated with a traditional Navajo stamped crescent design symbolizing the rising sun. Fluted squash blossom earrings are a very traditional part offemale adornment amongst the Navajo and this pair was probably madefor Native use.
Dimensions: 2½\" overall tall (including the French wire hoops), 1-3/16\" tall(earrings proper), 3/8\" width of squash blossom. Total Weight: 0.28 oz. / 13 grams
Condition: Very Good. No structural damage or repairs. Have minor wear andsome minor tarnish commensurate with age and use. The new French wire hoops are sterling silver.
