This piece was recently acquired at an estate sale from the personal workbench of a dedicated frontier crafter and regalia maker. Because it was found alongside a treasure trove of raw materials, hides, and feathers, we can confidently guarantee this is a completely unique, hand-assembled piece.
This breastplate has an exceptional, substantial weight to it, indicating the use of high-quality, authentic materials rather than lightweight plastic imitations. It makes a phenomenal piece of Western or rustic home decor, or an excellent addition to a mountain-man or Powwow regalia collection.
Materials & Construction:
• Hairpipe Beads: Dense, heavy, genuine natural bone hairpipes (buffalo/cattle bone) with a smooth finish and natural coloration.
• Spacers & Accents: Solid brass metal spacer beads stacked between the bones.
• Centerpiece: Large, vibrant white mother-of-pearl or shell button disc focal point.
• Fringe & Beading: Deep red genuine suede leather fringes adorned with red glass trade beads featuring white polka dots, ending in traditional metal cone jingles (tin cones).
• Structure: Thick, sturdy dark leather vertical support dividers keeping the structure rigid. Outer edges are accented with twisted fibrous material.

Condition:
Excellent vintage condition with a fantastic rustic patina. The leather is pliable and strong. The bone hairpipes show beautiful natural variation in color and light aging, confirming their authenticity. There are no missing rows or broken beads.
