Very interesting vintage handmade Maine tourist souvenir folk art coastal lighthouse in the original paint, patina & condition.
This is a really nice vintage Maine nautical diorama. The attention to detail is quite nice with a red & white lighthouse, a boat house, the mail boat, rocks & boulders and miscellaneous other features. I think this was made in the early 1950\'s as a tourist item and sold at a gift shop in Maine. It has been in an old Maine collection for many years.
There are just so many interesting details all in great original paint, patina & condition. The lighthouse diorama is mounted on a piece of old driftwood that actually resembles the rocky coastline of Maine. If you have ever been to Maine, these picturesque lighthouses still can be seen in the coastal areas and are still functioning the same way as 100\'s of years ago.
This great lighthouse diorama is about 11 1/2\" x 4\" x 5\" high. It really makes an impressive statement.
This is a very desirable piece of vintage Maine folk art.
You will not be disappointed.
