Vintage Japanese Bamboo Carrying Basket
A quietly beautiful utilitarian form with a warm mid-century patina.
This vintage Japanese basket dates to the Mid Showa period and reflects the practical elegance of everyday craftsmanship. Tightly woven bamboo strips form a rounded body with a reinforced rim and sturdy vertical supports, giving the piece a balanced silhouette and a strong handmade presence.
Cloth-wrapped carrying cords add a soft, timeworn contrast to the bamboo surface and highlight the object's original functional role. Whether used as a decorative storage piece or enjoyed as a sculptural accent, this Japanese bamboo basket brings texture, history, and natural warmth into any interior.
