Vintage J.C. Higgins Picnic Jug featuring Vacucel expanded-polystyrene insulation, believed to date to the mid-century era. Great retro camping, picnic, cabin, or outdoor display piece.
This example is especially interesting because it still has its original hanging Vacucel product/instruction tag. The tag advertises the jug as keeping contents hot or cold for 9 hours.
Features a white molded insulated body with:
Red screw-on lid
Red pour spout with attached cap/loop
Ribbed metal carrying handle
White plastic interior liner
Original J.C. Higgins front badge
Original Vacucel Picnic Jug hang tag
Pre-owned vintage condition with age-related wear, discoloration, scuffs and marks to the expanded-polystyrene exterior. The J.C. Higgins badge shows noticeable wear/scratching. The original paper tag also has age/storage wear. Interior appears quite clean from the photos. Please review all photos closely for condition.
A fantastic survivor for collectors of J.C. Higgins, Sears sporting goods, vintage camping gear, mid-century picnicware, or retro coolers.
