Vintage Italian hand-crank food grater in a wooden box. Bread, hard cheese, or nuts go in the top, and the grated pieces fall into the pull-out drawer below. Crank turns smoothly. Wooden box with stamped lettering that reads Nº 0 and "Igienica Brevettata" (Italian for hygienic, patented) — the stamp is faint, so I read it as best I could. Dovetail joints, brass-colored hinges and corner brackets, iron crank with wooden handle. About 11 inches long including the crank and handle, 8 inches tall, and 6 inches deep (about 7 inches deep including the front knob). Weighs 3.8 pounds. This is the first one of these I've ever seen, and I've lived around Amish and Italian families my whole life.
