Amazing piece of Halloween ephemera! This dance card for a Halloween dance that took place at the Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1941 has remarkably survived in near pristine condition. There is no folding, bending or fraying. The only condition issue is some rust staining from the original staple on the inside pages. This dance was held one month and a few days before the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the sudden outburst of WWII. Another historical curiosity is the musician was Stan Vinton and his orchestra. Stan also had a musical son named Stanley Robert Vinton who later took the entertainment name Bobby Vinton. He became a teenage musical star/heartthrob and later had his own television variety show. I purchased several of these together so it appears that they were the leftover unused copies which is why they are still tight and there is no wear or folding. What a remarkable display piece for Halloween and way more rare and interesting than a regular postcard.
