Mr. Quick Hamburgers was a fast-food chain founded by Marcel A. Comte that opened its first location in Normal, Illinois, in 1959.Original locations sold hamburgers for 15¢ and coffee for 10¢. A burger, fries, and shake combo often cost just 50¢.Locations were famous for colorful, atomic neon signs featuring large "Hamburger" lettering on top.The chain grew during the 1960s and 1970s, reaching over 300 locations at it's height.Most locations phased out or closed by the late 1990's with original regional holdouts closing into the early 2000s. A couple of independent legacy locations still operate.
