A larger-than-life1950s Santa Claus. A spectacular example of Fred Press’s ExuberantStyle. Fred Press was an American artist who was a popularsculptor in the 1920s and 1930s who moved to New York and became an influencerin the “Mad Men” style of decor of the day. He made this Santa sometime in the early1950s. With this Santa, you are buying a piece of style history. The Santa isclearly marked with his trademark Name on the edge of the base – Fred Press. The Santa will be carefully packed and fully insured.
Santa isabout 10 ½ inches high and a little over 6 inches wide at his flaring coattails.He is about 5 ½ inches deep at the same coat tails.
In veryGood Vintage Condition, I can find no chips, cracks or repairs in his intricatecurves and flairs. There is some minor paint loss.
