Founded by Hugo Asmussen, Design Asmussen became a hallmark of premium Danish metalware in the mid-to-late 20th century, with pieces designed as early as the 1960s. The company is most celebrated for its iconic \'Hamlet\' or teardrop designs, heavily produced throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Each piece is crafted from solid metal and heavily plated in brilliant 24-karat gold, merging the sleek, organic curves of Scandinavian Modernism with undeniable luxury. Today, authentic Asmussen pieces are highly sought after by collectors of Mid-Century Modern and Danish contemporary decor.
