Vintage Council Tool FSS Twist Pattern Pulaski axe with the older Council Tool logo and Federal Supply Specification (FSS) marking. This forged American-made combination axe and mattock was designed for wildland firefighting, forestry, trail construction, and brush clearing. The desirable twist-pattern head provides improved working angles between the axe bit and mattock blade and is sought after by collectors and forestry tool enthusiasts.
The forged steel head has been cleaned while retaining its vintage character and original markings. It is fitted with a solid 36-inch wooden handle. Whether you’re adding it to a collection or putting it back to work, this is a quality vintage Council Tool Pulaski.

Condition
Very good vintage condition. The forged steel head shows normal cosmetic wear, light pitting, and finish loss consistent with age and use. Both the axe edge and mattock blade have been cleaned. The replacement wooden handle is solid and feels secure. No cracks or weld repairs were found during inspection. Please review all photos carefully for the best representation of the item’s condition.
