Vintage Consumers Engineering Co. “Gardsman” fire alarm bell, marked New York, N.Y. and Montreal, Canada. The back plate is marked with thermostat setting 150°F and includes original approval labels. One label shows Fire Marshal approval dated 1-25-61, placing this piece in the early 1960s timeframe.
The alarm has a polished metal bell housing with a red rewind indicator on top. The back is marked “Gardsman” with patent number 351127. The labels reference Dept. Public Safety / Fire Prevention approval and U.S. Army & G.S.A. / U.S. Air Force approval. This is a very interesting vintage firefighting, safety, municipal, industrial, or military-related collectible.

Untested Used vintage condition. Bell has surface scratches, scuffs, oxidation, finish wear, and age-related marks from use and storage. The red rewind indicator is present. Interior labels show wear, staining, peeling, and edge loss, but the main markings are still readable. Please review all photos carefully as they are part of the description.
