Up for sale is a beautiful vintage ceramic turtle figurine, highly characteristic of Blue Mountain Pottery. Crafted in Ontario, Canada, during the mid-20th century, this piece features the company's iconic reflow green and brown drip glaze. The striking glaze creates unique variations of rich emerald-green blending into deep, dark brown pools along the edges, giving the turtle a wonderfully glossy, organic look.
This particular piece is unmarked, which is very common for Blue Mountain Pottery figurines of this era, as many originally relied solely on a triangular foil or paper factory label that wore off over time. The distinct low-slung mold, stylized flippers, and glaze composition perfectly attribute this to BMP production.
