Vintage Boy Scouts of America framed merit badge sash and Eagle Scout award display, identified on the handwritten backing as belonging to James L. MacLeod.The display includes:
• Olive-colored sash with 26 embroidered merit badges
• Eagle Scout medal with red, white and blue ribbon and “Be Prepared” suspension bar
• Additional Scout rank insignia and small pin
• “CAMPOREE ’50” strip
• Blue-and-yellow sun patch, red numeral 3 patch and orange-and-black panther patchThe handwritten backing reads “Eagle Scout Award and Merit Badges” and identifies James L. MacLeod. Another inscription includes the date 4-27-37 and “Boy Scouts of America.” The Camporee strip is dated 1950, so the display includes material associated with different dates. The inscriptions are presented as found; the owner’s history and exact dates of the individual pieces have not been independently verified.Black frame measures approximately 8.25 inches wide by 34 inches tall. The backing bears a Carol’s Frame & Fix stamp from Sylvania, Georgia, and has an attached hanging wire.Vintage condition with visible age, discoloration, fabric creasing, loose threads and fraying around some patches. The white display background has spotting and discoloration. The frame has surface wear, and the paper backing has staining, punctures and tears.Offered as the complete framed display shown. The frame has not been opened, and the backs of the badges, medal and pins have not been inspected. Please review all photographs for the included pieces and their condition.
