This rare and unique\" Saturn\" Art Deco lamp was designed by L.J. Houze to be sold at the 1939-1940 NY Worlds Fair. The lamp is a great addition to any collection of historical memorabilia and collectibles. This lamp features a luminescent blue/green frosted glass \"planetary\" globe with embossed stars and moons. It sits atop the signature frosted \"signature\" conical base that embodies the pinnacle of Art Deco design.The lamp is terrific for anyone interested in the history of World\'s Fairs and Art Deco design. It appears to have been rewired and is fully functional.
There are no chips in the glass but the interior paint has been scuffed out in some places. Please carefully review the photos toward the end that illustrate the flaws that most probably occurring when it was being rewired. The metal components have been tarnished by age. That said, this is still a very beautiful and very collectable lamp!
Approximately 11 inches tall. Perfect for a desk, table, or as a display case lamp.
