This vintage wooden moulding plane features a skewed blade setup crafted for smooth side-grain trimming and rabbeting work. The toe is stamped with the MASTER brand mark along with the Guaranteed English Beech stamp in a banner outline. The single-iron cutter is stamped MADE IN SHEFFIELD on the upper tang.
Based on historical maker marks, the "MASTER" trademark was used by A.B. Salmen Successors, Ltd. out of London, England, placing the estimated date of manufacture for this plane between c. 1937 and 1967.

Good vintage working condition with light wear consistent with age and shop use. The beechwood body shows minor surface scuffs, light scratches, and patina, but remains solid with no major cracks or splits. The wedge fits snugly into the throat. The metal blade shows age-appropriate oxidation and surface patina, but the cutting edge remains intact. I am not a professional grader or tool restorer.
