This exceptional 1992 Hopi Kachina doll depicts Hahay-i-wu-uti, the Hopi Grandmother (often referred to as the mother of all Kachinas). Masterfully hand-carved from a single piece of cottonwood root, this authentic figure showcases exquisite traditional details, including the signature ruff collar, a delicately painted face, and intricate geometric tribal garments. She is beautifully rendered holding a ceremonial bowl. The base is clearly signed and dated by acclaimed Hopi-Tewa carver Delwyn Harvey ("CARD HARV", an abbreviation often used alongside his full signature variants), noting Polacca, AZ 86042.
