Vintage 1980s Soviet MiG Pilot Oxygen Mask KM-34 Military Factory Stamps #186 Description Our SKU: 11330423 Item Brand: Unbranded Item MPN: DOES NOT APPLY This is an aviation oxygen mask for pilots, model KM-34. It is used by fighter pilots for breathing at high altitudes. It was made in 1980s in USSR by Military manufacture. The mask was designed to meet the needs of high-altitude and high G-force maneuvers in modern fighter jets. It was an evolution of the earlier KM-32 design, featuring improved comfort and a larger size. It was widely used throughout the 1970s and 1980s by the Soviet Air Force. The KM-34 was commonly paired with the ZSh-5 and ZSh-7 helmets for pilots of aircraft such as the MiG-21, MiG-29, Su-24, and Su-27.Innovation: It featured a distinctive side-exiting oxygen hose (side-hose mask), which lowered the inertial moment of G-loads on a pilot's neck by keeping the mask's mass closer to the head's center of gravity. Please look carefully at the pictures; they are part of description. You will get the oxygen mask you see on the pictures; size III (see picture). It is in very good vintage condition; it has signs of actual wearing by Soviet pilot.
