🌿 The Olfactory Profile: The Definitive Bittersweet Mossy Peach
Composed masterfully by Jacques Guerlain in 1919 and bottled here before the catastrophic chemical and cost-cutting reformulations of the late 20th century took hold, the original 1980s Mitsouko extraction delivers an unrivaled, deep, and hypnotic fruit-chypre trail. The arrangement awakens with an instantly commanding, sharp opening flight of bracing Calabrian bergamot, fresh citrus oils, and bright green aldehydes. The core transitions into an extraordinarily dense heart driven by premium natural peach pulp (synthetic peach aldehyde C14 in full natural base matrix), May rose absolute, indolic night jasmine, and ylang-ylang, before collapsing onto a thunderous, old-money base foundation of massive pre-ban Oakmoss, rich vetiver, deep patchouli resins, amber, and genuine warm sandalwood oil with staggering staying power on skin.
