Offered is a beautifully detailed 1980 hand-carved Wood Duck by renowned American wildlife and decoy carver James A. Cushing, signed and dated by the artist on the underside.

James A. Cushing was an accomplished American wildfowl carver whose work received recognition in major carving competitions, including the Ward Foundation’s World Championship Wildfowl Carving Competition.

This particular carving is especially interesting because it is dated 1980, making it an early example of Cushing’s work. The carving features excellent detail, realistic feather carving, and beautifully executed hand-painted coloration.

Sea unfortunate damage in the last photo.
