The wide border is decorated with additional patriotic and Revolutionary-era imagery, including the Liberty Bell, stars, colonial drum, arrows and other decorative motifs. Red and blue accents throughout the engraving create a striking patriotic design against the aged brass.

The reverse is marked “INDIA BY S.S. Sarna” with the Sarna maker/importer mark. It also bears a handwritten “ENGRAVED BY” inscription followed by what appears to be the individual engraver\'s name/signature.

An attached triangular hanger on the reverse allows the plate to be displayed on a wall.
