Original Vintage 1968 Disneyland Souvenir Wall Map – Walt Disney Productions (30\" x 44\")
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Up for sale is an authentic, original 1968 edition of the large-format Disneyland Souvenir Wall Map. Measuring 30 inches by 44 inches, this vibrant lithograph captures a detailed, stylized bird\'s-eye perspective of the \"Magic Kingdom\" during a transformative era of park history. Designed and published by Walt Disney Productions, this map was originally purchased at the park as a premium souvenir and features the iconic yellow character border highlighting classic Disney animation favorites.
HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE & VISUAL INCLUSIONS
This specific 1968 printing serves as a historical time capsule for Disney enthusiasts, showcasing unique features and short-lived landmarks:
- Main Street, U.S.A.: Explicitly details the Wurlitzer Music Hall storefront across from the Emporium, a location that closed permanently in September 1968. It also displays the original Santa Fe & Disneyland R.R. corporate sponsorship branding.
- Tomorrowland: Highlights the then-brand-new \"New Tomorrowland\" expansion, including Adventure Thru Inner Space, The PeopleMover, Submarine Voyage, and The Carousel of Progress.
- Disneyland Hotel Area: Includes the highly detailed lower-left inset map showing the vintage layout of the Disneyland Hotel, complete with its active Los Angeles Airways Heliport pad, which ceased operations shortly after.
DETAILED CONDITION REPORT
- Front Illustration (Condition: Excellent): The colors remain exceptionally bright, crisp, and richly saturated with no noticeable sun fading or color bleeding. The edges are sharp, and the corner areas are completely free of pinholes, tape residue, or tack tears.
- Reverse Side (Condition: Good / Fair): The unprinted cream-colored paper backing displays standard, clean fold creases consistent with how it was originally packaged and sold at the park. There is some very light age-related surface smudging along the folds. Near one section, there is a small cluster of multi-colored child\'s marker markings (pink and green).
FRAMING & DISPLAY NOTE
The marker markings are strictly localized to the blank back and do not bleed through or impact the front artwork in any way. When framed or mounted, the backing anomalies will be completely hidden, providing an immaculate, gallery-worthy display piece.

- Safe Transit: To preserve the map\'s integrity, it will be securely packaged and shipped folded along its original factory seams inside a rigid cardboard mailer to prevent any bending or crushing during shipping.
