Vintage East German educational pull-down wall chart illustrating meiosis / cell division, produced by the Deutsches Hygiene-Museum Dresden in the former German Democratic Republic (GDR/DDR).
Marked Nr. 2049, this striking scientific teaching chart illustrates the stages of meiosis with bold red and blue chromosome diagrams. The graphic cellular imagery gives it a wonderful Mid-Century scientific / laboratory aesthetic and makes it equally appealing as an educational collectible or unusual wall decor.
The chart retains its original wooden upper hanger and black lower roller.
Especially nice: the original accompanying instructional booklet is included. It is titled “Zellteilung (Meiose)” / Cell Division (Meiosis) and contains detailed diagrams and explanations in both German and English.
The printing information on the chart includes a code ending in 63, consistent with approximately 1963 production.
