Vintage 1960s Strange Mask monster Halloween/costume mask in its original illustrated packaging.
Made in Hong Kong, this unusual thin molded plastic mask features a grotesque pink monster face with bulging eyes, heavy black eyebrows, exaggerated facial features and teeth. The colorful original cardboard header is marked “Strange Mask” and “Made in Hong Kong” and depicts several character masks from the line.
The Strange Mask line dates to the 1960s and is also known among collectors for its Hong Kong-made Beatles character masks from the Beatlemania era.
The mask measures approximately 10–11\" tall. Original elastic remains present.
Condition: The mask itself appears to be in good vintage condition, especially considering its age. There is a small crack near the forehead/eyebrow area, shown clearly in the close-up photo. Otherwise, the mask presents very nicely. Much of the wrinkled appearance visible in the photographs is from the original clear plastic packaging covering the mask, not from damage to the mask itself.
The original packaging shows considerably more age and storage wear, including wrinkles, creases, tears/holes and edge wear to the illustrated cardboard header. Please review all photos for the exact condition.
A wonderfully bizarre piece of vintage monster and Halloween memorabilia that is particularly appealing with its original Strange Mask illustrated packaging still present.
