Vintage 1959 Silvertone 211 Black 6 Transistor AM Pocket Radio Working Tested:
$89.99

All vintage electronics sold as-is due to age! Product Details:Vintage Silvertone Model 211 portable transistor radio in the original black color, dating to approximately 1959-1960.The Model 211 was the black version of Silvertone\'s 211/212/213 series of compact transistor radios sold by Sears, Roebuck & Co. This model features a six-transistor AM receiver housed in a stylish black plastic cabinet with a brushed metal faceplate, metal speaker grille, distinctive geometric tuning display, and gold-tone metal carrying handle/stand.This is an especially attractive example that retains a very clean overall appearance and presents beautifully for display.Testing:The radio was tested and is WORKING.It powers on and successfully received several AM radio stations during testing.Multiple stations were clearly received and confirmed. Some stations/reception had static, as noted during testing. The tuning and radio reception are functioning to the extent described above.Testing was limited to normal basic operation and station reception. No extended-duration testing, electronic measurements, alignment, or internal servicing were performed.Due to the age of the radio, no representation is made that every original electronic component has been previously serviced or that performance will be identical in every location. AM reception can also vary depending on station strength, location, interference, and operating conditions.Reasonable offers welcome, happy to work with buyers. Condition:Very nice overall vintage cosmetic condition, particularly for a portable radio of this age.The black plastic cabinet retains an attractive appearance and presents very well. The front face is quite clean overall. The brushed metal faceplate, tuning display, Silvertone script, speaker grille, and surrounding black cabinet trim all present nicely. There are minor scuffs, scratches, marks, and other signs of normal previous use and age. These are primarily cosmetic and are shown in the photographs. The left side has some scratches and normal surface wear. The right side is comparatively clean with only minor age-related wear observed. The rear cabinet has some scuffs and scratches from previous use and storage. The upper-right, upper-left, lower-left, and lower-right cabinet corners all appear intact. No significant chips or cracks were observed at these corners during inspection. The rear cabinet screws are present. The original-style gold-tone metal carrying handle/stand is present and gives the radio an especially attractive period appearance. The controls are present and the radio was successfully operated during testing as described above. No major cabinet damage was observed during inspection. As with any vintage item, minor surface marks, age-related discoloration, dust, or other small imperfections may be present. All known significant condition issues observed during inspection have been described above. Please review all photographs carefully.
