Fabulous vintage Holt Howard Pixieware Hors D’Oeuvre appetizer serving dish, dated 1959. Featuring the iconic pixie big bright eyes, rosy cheeks, and a sweet little smile, this playful piece brings instant vintage personality to any table.
The tall green pixie hat rises from the center and serves as a whimsical handle while the dish spreads out around him with hand-painted green striping in a cheerful mid-century pattern. Holt Howard’s Pixieware line is beloved for its imaginative design and delightful expressions, and this piece is a wonderful example of their fun, kitschy creativity from the golden age of 1950s entertaining.
Perfect for serving hors d’oeuvres, olives, candies, nuts, or small snacks, or simply displaying as part of a Pixieware collection. Condition
Excellent vintage condition. No chips or cracks. Minimal age-related wear, minimal crazing, and very light paint wear consistent with age. There is one tiny glaze flake on the rim of plate (see photo 9), mentioned for full transparency but very small and does not detract from the overall beauty or display of the piece. Because of the pixie’s delicate design, especially the neck, ears, and tall hair, these pieces are often found with damage. Finding one in such beautiful condition is becoming increasingly rare and highly sought after by collectors!!
