Vintage 1950s Sporting Goods Store Interior Photos Lot 2 Guns 8x10 B&W Men
[Used]: Vintage lot of two black-and-white gelatin-silver photographic prints on semi-gloss paper showing light age-related handling and storage wear with mild natural curl to the sheets. Front image surfaces retain a clean semi-gloss sheen with scattered fine surface scuffing, a few small handling marks visible in angled light, and localized edge and corner wear including a soft bend and short crease at one corner but no tears or paper losses. White borders exhibit slight age toning, minor waviness, and softly rounded tips, while the reverse sides are blank photo paper with light overall toning and no mounting or adhesive residue, both photographs remaining intact, flexible, and suitable for handling or display as loose, unmounted and unframed original prints with no mats, frames, or additional accessories included.
Original vintage 1950s black-and-white gelatin-silver photographs offered as a lot of two large-format images documenting the interior of a midcentury sporting goods store.
One view looks across a guns, fishing, archery, and golf department with large raised wall letters reading "Guns", "Fishing", "Archery", and "Golf" above pegboard displays of rifles, fishing rods, paddles, golf bags, and other outdoor equipment, along with mannequins dressed in hunting and fishing gear, countertop merchandise, and a canoe standing upright against the far wall.
The companion photograph centers on the main sales floor where several men in suits and shoppers move among wood and glass display counters filled with baseball gloves, shoes, balls, boxed games, and small sporting accessories, a mannequin in a catcher's uniform standing on one counter, a tabletop target game and scoreboard marked with "Ball" and "Foul" in the foreground, and clothing racks in the background beneath wall signs reading "Jackets" and "Work Clothes".
Both prints are black-and-white gelatin-silver photographs on semi-gloss photo paper with narrow white borders and blank reverses, showing crisp midcentury interior details such as fluorescent ceiling fixtures, structural columns, wood cabinetry, and product signage, with no stamps, captions, or mounting on the backs.
Features include 1950s sporting goods and community-life subject matter with store interior views and men on the sales floor, documentary-style compositions highlighting firearms, fishing tackle, archery gear, golf clubs, baseball equipment, and apparel displays, original black-and-white gelatin-silver print production on paper, and presentation as a loose, unmounted and unframed lot of two original photographs suitable for display or addition to sports history, retail, and vernacular photography collections.
