100% Old & Original — Incredible Industrial Automobilia / Construcrion Hardware Store Americana
Up for sale is an incredibly rare, fresh-to-the-market vintage Sakrete Concrete and Mortar Mixes point-of-purchase store display. If you collect vintage hardware, industrial advertising, or unique Americana, you know how hard it is to find survivors made of paper and cardboard. This is a spectacular, completely original two-piece unit that was designed to sit on a hardware store counter or shelf to look like a real, full sack of cement without the actual 90-pound weight!
Design & Construction Details:
The Top Section (The Bag): Constructed from a genuine, unused vintage multi-wall paper shipping sack manufactured by Hudson Better Bags (Pine Bluff, Ark.). To give it the structure and shape of a full 90 lb. bag, it is built over an original internal wood frame block.
The Bottom Section (The Base): A heavy, die-cut corrugated cardboard wedge-style base featuring the classic graphic of a mason working with a trowel, the iconic Sakrete logo, and the famous slogan "JUST ADD WATER". The side panel features the vintage "Confidence Member of Brand Names Foundation, Inc. Satisfaction" shield.
Date/Patents: The lower edge of the bag features two prominent patent dates: Pat. No. 2,530,501 (Nov. 21, 1950) and Pat. No. 2,904,942 (Sept. 22, 1959), dating this piece firmly to 1959 or very shortly thereafter.

Condition Report:
This item is being sold AS-IS, exactly as found, with no returns. It shows fantastic, authentic character from decades of storage. The paper bag has some expected splits, tears, and historical tape/wear spots (see photos), but the graphics remain bold and vibrant in classic industrial yellow and black. The cardboard base shows typical edge wear, minor bowing, and softening, but it still fits together beautifully and displays with massive visual presence. Please study all photos carefully as they serve as the definitive description of condition.
