Absolutely adorable pair of vintage mid-century ceramic girl head vase planters, dating to approximately the 1950s.The larger brunette girl features braided pigtails with turquoise bows, a yellow and turquoise hat, blue plaid dress and a raised hand holding a turquoise and white umbrella holder. The smaller blonde girl features pink bows, a pink trimmed hat, pale pink clothing and a coordinating pink and white umbrella holder. Both have the classic sweet faces, rosy cheeks and hand-painted details associated with collectible mid-century Japanese head vases. The openings at the tops of their hats allow them to be used as small vases or planters. These designs were also originally made to display small umbrellas or parasols in the holders beside their hands. Umbrellas are not included.Condition:
Good vintage condition with age-related wear. There is crazing to the glaze, paint and finish wear, small marks and areas of discoloration consistent with age. The smaller pink girl shows noticeable wear around the hat and bow area. Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition. No umbrellas or parasols are included.A fantastic coordinating pair for a vintage head vase collection, mid-century vanity display, kitschy decor or collection of vintage Japanese ceramics.• Set of 2
