Charming vintage 1950s ceramic donkey family figurine set featuring a larger mama donkey with two baby donkeys attached by metal chains. Mama has a sweet hand-painted face with large blue eyes, a red bow at her neck, brown and cream coloring, and olive/gold-toned hooves. Each baby has its own adorable expression and retains its small bell at the neck. This whimsical set has the classic Mid-Century Japanese kitsch style popular during the 1950s. A wonderful display piece for collectors of vintage animal figurines, Japanese ceramics, donkeys/burros, or retro kitsch décor.Condition: This is a true vintage set and shows noticeable age-related wear, including areas of paint/color loss, surface wear, discoloration and crazing. The babies show heavier finish loss, particularly around their heads and bodies. Remnants of an old paper label are present on the underside, but the maker information is no longer readable. The original-style metal chains remain attached, keeping the family together. Please review all photos closely as they are an important part of the condition description.Approximate era: 1950s
