Vintage 1940s autograph book belonging to a student named Nona, filled with charming handwritten entries, poems, original sketches (and a thinly veiled threat?) from friends and classmates. This red faux-leather bound keepsake features a gold-stamped cover with a decorative border and a "Help Stamp Out Teachers" stamp. The interior pages contain a variety of heartfelt and humorous messages in pencil and ink, including rhymes about friendship, school life, and even a few hand-drawn illustrations like a monkey and a stylized blade. A wonderful piece of mid-century Americana and social history, capturing the personality and wit of a 1940s classroom. The book shows significant age-appropriate wear to the cover and edges, consistent with its history as a cherished school memento.
