Up for sale/sale is a highly collectible, original vintage 1939–1942 Sir Walter Raleigh Tobacco promotional premium item. This rare cardboard house was produced by the Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation as a marketing tie-in for their hit NBC radio program, \"Uncle Walter’s Doghouse.\" The show played on the classic comedic trope of a husband landing in the \"doghouse,\" offering the solution that smoking smooth Sir Walter Raleigh pipe tobacco would keep him in his wife\'s good graces. The piece features wonderful, bold graphics of a distressed, bald cartoon husband chained to the front entrance door panel. Inside, the cardboard cutout text reads: \"Tune in on UNCLE WALTER\'S DOGHOUSE every TUESDAY evening COAST-TO-COAST N.B.C. NETWORK\"—fully documenting its direct history to golden-age radio entertainment!CONDITION NOTES & FEATURES:
- Graphics & Display: The lithograph printing remains deeply saturated with sharp contrast and rich vintage colors. It presents beautifully on a shelf or as part of a tobaccoriana collection.
- Roof & Hinge: The roof section is present but completely comes off. The original cloth fabric binding hinge is no longer attached along the back panel due to decades of natural age fatiguing and glue drying.
- Wear/Fatigue: Exhibits typical edge wear, fraying on the corners, and creasing along the roof peak and base margins common for 80+ year-old cardboard ephemera.
- Folk Art History: The underside features endearing, original vintage hand-written pencil names tracking household members (\"Daddy, Mommy, Sandy, Patty\"), adding unique personal provenance and domestic history to this specific piece.
- Hardware: Includes the vintage metal cotter pin mechanism inside.
