Merle Norman was an American cosmetics executive, chemist and pioneer in Female entrepreneurship. She began formulating her own skin care products in Santa Monica during the late 1920\'s and opened her first Merle Norman Cosmetics Studio in 1931. There, she established her \"Try Before You Buy\" sales philosophy. She is legendary for building one of the earliest successful franchise models, that led to thousands of Merle Norman Makeup Studios across North America.
This is a rare historical promotional piece. I\'ve never seen another framed portrait of Merle Norman like this. Few were made and was given to us as owners of several California Merle Norman Studios in the1990\'s. Still shrink wrapped, this captivating picture captures her beauty and a glimpse of American Art Deco from that era. The free standing 7 7/8\" X 9.5\" frame is made out of a Burgundy Red Grosgrain Ribbon Silk Fabric.
As pictures show, it is sealed in its original shrink wrap. A lower front left area of the shrink wrap has separated but does not affect the quality of the frame or portrait. (See all pictures and read Condition Description)
