RARE 1930 PET MILK BOOKLET “SUMMERTIME RECIPES FOR 2, 4 OR 6” by MARY LEE TAYLOR HOME ECONOMIST on RADIO SHOW
This Pet Milk vintage promotional recipe booklet is almost a true antique. It’s 96 years old and in very nice condition for its age, especially considering it’s a small paper booklet. Pages tanned due to age. Edge and surface wear can be seen in photos. No writing or stains inside the 14-page staple-bound booklet published in August 1930. Full-color lithographed photos and graphics vivid and bright. Titled “Summertime Recipes for 2 or 4 or 6,” the fictional homemaker Mary Lee Taylor compiled this booklet for PET Milk during the 1930s-1950s sharing cooking advice and recipes. This was just one of many booklets and radio shows that PET Milk home economists developed to help housewives through the Great Depression, World War II and the Korean War. These pages feature warm-weather meals and desserts designed to feed small or large groups using evaporated milk. The signature dish in this booklet is peach cobbler.
