Vintage tiger Halloween costume featuring an original Collegeville “Ling the Tiger” molded mask, originally produced as part of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey costume line.
The accompanying tiger suit does not appear to be the original Collegeville factory costume. Original examples of Ling the Tiger were sold with a thin printed plastic/vinyl-style suit featuring Ringling Bros. graphics. This example instead comes with what appears to be a handmade/custom sewn tiger costume, creating a much more elaborate ensemble.
Costume includes:
* Collegeville Ling the Tiger molded face mask with strap
* Full tiger-striped zippered jumpsuit
* Attached long stuffed tiger tail
* Separate matching tiger hood with dimensional pink-lined ears
* Pair of matching tiger-striped mitts/gloves
* Bold yellow/orange and black all-over tiger print
The handmade construction and complete matching pieces give this one incredible old-school Halloween character. Whether somebody upgraded their original Collegeville costume or simply paired the Ling mask with a homemade creation years ago, the combination makes for a fantastic survivor.
CONDITION: Vintage pre-owned condition with age and wear throughout. The Collegeville mask has multiple cracks/splits along the outer edges, including the areas shown clearly in the close-up photographs. There is additional surface/paint wear consistent with age. Costume shows general vintage wear from use and storage. No attempt has been made to repair or restore the mask.
SIZE: No size tag found on the handmade costume. Please refer closely to the photographed measurements for actual dimensions and fit. The original Ling mask was associated with Collegeville’s child-size costume line, but the measurements of this particular handmade suit should be used when determining fit.
An absolutely killer piece for a vintage Halloween collection, Collegeville collector, Ringling Bros. memorabilia collection, costume display, oddities collection or seasonal decor. The handmade suit paired with that snarling old Collegeville tiger mask has a look you simply aren’t finding at Spirit Halloween.
