This is an absolutely beautiful late 1960s vintage turquoise and shell heishi necklace. Navajo made in Northern New Mexico. Lovely and delicate necklace, which measures 18\" overall length, and with beads from 3/16\" at the clasp and tapering out to 1/4\" at dead center. Wonderful color! I don\'t know who the artisan was that made this piece, but it was my late Moms, and would have been purchased in late 1969 or early 1970 when we lived in the Northern part of the state. Clasp tests as sterling. I don\'t pretend to be an expert on turquoise, but I\'ve been around it a great deal, and this color blue and the matrix leads me to believe the stones are from the Hidalgo County area in the Southwestern part of the state, and this may well be made by the same artisan as the other two necklaces I have for sale. In my family for 50+ years and ready to take a place in your collection!
The photos are of the very heishi necklace you are offerding on, not a \"similar\" item. I will gladly provide further photos or information about this piece until you are comfortable. If you do have any concern with a purchase from me, please contact me and lets talk. I offer good quality merchandise, and I think my rating speaks for itself.
