The Factory Lineage: "This matching pair was manufactured at the Novelty Works factory in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, England by William Kent (Porcelains) Ltd. William Kent is highly sought after by collectors because they acquired original 19th-century Victorian plaster master molds to continue producing traditional wally dogs smoothly through the mid-20th century."
The Backstamp Proof: "Both bases feature the signature, authentic William Kent oval black ink backstamp reading 'Staffordshire Ware / Made in England'. The ink smudging on the underside is a standard characteristic of the rapid manual rubber-stamp transfer methods used by factory staff during this era."
