Beautiful vintage genuine lead crystal salt and pepper shaker set, made in Western Germany, most likely dating to the 1960s.
These came from my mother’s china cabinet and have been in our family for decades. My parents were married in 1962, and I believe these may have been a wedding gift, although I cannot confirm the exact date. I remember them being in our family for as long as I can remember. They were primarily used for holidays and special occasions and otherwise displayed in the china cabinet.
The shakers have an elegant rectangular shape with a detailed cut-style geometric/starburst design and matching clear screw-on crystal tops. One shaker still retains its original gold foil label reading:
“Genuine Lead Crystal – Made in Western Germany.”
They have a substantial, quality feel and would be beautiful for display, a vintage table setting, holiday dining, or a West German crystal collection.
Approximate measurements:
Height: about 5”
Width at base: about 1 1/2”
Please see photos with measuring tape for additional size reference.
Includes both the salt and pepper shaker.
A lovely surviving vintage set with wonderful family history and an original West Germany label.
CONDITION:
Excellent vintage condition. No chips or cracks. Crystal remains clear and bright with only very minor signs of age or occasional use. Both original clear screw-on tops are present and intact. One shaker retains its original “Genuine Lead Crystal – Made in Western Germany” foil label. These were carefully stored in a china cabinet and used primarily for holidays and special occasions. Please review all photos closely, as they are part of the description.
