A vintage hand-carved and hand-painted Pacific Northwest First Nations/Native American polychrome cedar \"Thunderbird\" totem pole. It features a prominent thunderbird figure at the top with outstretched wings and stacked ancestral animal faces below, painted in traditional red, white and black pigments. Based on style and craftsmanship, it closely resembles the carving work of Nuu-chah-nulth (Nootka) or Kwakwaka\'wakw artisans. It is estimated to have been produced in the early 1960\'s and is stamped on the bottom \"GENUINE INDIAN MADE\". It is in excellent condition with no signs of wear or damage and the colors are still vibrant. It measures approximately 13\" inches in height by 11 1/2\" inches width(wings).
