This set showcases European craftsmanship, carved in the traditional “flat-plane” geometric folk art style. Each dog features an incredibly expressive gaze with premium inset dark eyes and hand-painted details. They are securely attached to wooden bases, each made to look like they’re sitting on a book, meticulously designed to keep your favorite library volumes perfectly upright. They each measure 5”x6”x3”. The underside of both bookends features the original protective green felt. Crucially, both pieces still retain their rare, original jagged-edged paper “Made in Western Germany” import labels intact, securely dating this set to the 1950s - 1960s era.
