VINTAGE HAND-CARVED WOODEN CATHOLIC SAINT STATUE ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI WITH SILVER CRUCIFIXOld antique/vintage wooden hand-carved Catholic Saint statue of St. Francis of Assisi holding a silver/silvertone crucifix.
These wooden figurines were often made in Europe (such as Italy or Germany) from high-quality fruit, linden, walnut, or oak wood.
The statue features highly detailed artisan carving work, visible in the fine drapery of the Franciscan habit, the facial expression, and the traditional tonsure hair.
The saint holds a beautifully detailed silver crucifix attached to the front. The statue stands on a beautifully turned, dark finished wooden pedestal.
The bottom of the wooden base is clean and features no brand markings or stickers. This old vintage handmade figurine shows minor signs of use and age consistent with its history. Please note: it is unknown if the wooden pedestal base is original to the statue. There also appears to be a small, very well-executed old repair on the left side of the saint\'s head, which blends in beautifully with the carving. Overall, it remains in a very beautiful, solid, and presentable condition with a rich warm patina.DIMENSIONS:
