Unused Vintage French Metis Linen. Fleur Bleue New Old Stock 87” x 109”
I have been fortunate during my most recent buying trips, finding lengths of best quality Metis. This is old stock from the manufacturer, bearing a few storage marks which will wash out. The ends are unfinished, ready for hemming to use as sheets, or for upholstery, clothing and crafts. Metis is a mixture of cotton and linen, Fleur Bleue is recognised as the best. This fabric has a tight weave and is very hard wearing. These lengths are still ecru coloured, and will need the size washing out, though upholsterers probably will like to use as is. To remove the size, soak overnight, then hot machine wash with usual soap powder; oxygen bleach can be added. Repeated washing will render this fabric whiter until it becomes bright white.

My antique and vintage linens and fabrics may show signs of their previous life, storage etc. I do point out holes and major marks, some items may show signs of storage in varying degrees, this is to be expected of items which may have been unused for many years. I recommend washing bedlinens before use. If you are looking for pristine, as new, items please think carefully before purchasing. All measurements are approximate.
