USSR Soviet Russian Army Military Adrianov Compass Hand Wrist Andrianov Kompas
The Adrianova Compass is a Soviet full-time military wrist compass, the design of which was created by the Russian cartographer V.N. Adrianov. Along with the AK artillery compass, it was considered the most common navigation instrument in the armed forces of the USSR.
The design of the Ring limb of the Adrianov compass has a scale in degrees and thousandths with a division price of the limb equal to 3 ° or 50 thousandths. The values of degree divisions increase clockwise, and thousandths - against. The glass rotating cover of the compass can be used as a sighting device for reading angles or sighting in any direction. For counting on the dial scale, index markers are provided on the inner wall of the lid opposite the slot and front sight. In order to simplify the manipulation of the compass in the dark, these pointers, like the northern end of the magnetic needle, are coated with a phosphorescent compound. To fix the magnetic needle in the idle position, the compass is equipped with an arrestor, which presses it against the glass of the housing cover.
